Step 3: Connecting Your Domain

Important word of caution for beginners 👇

If you are a beginner and are not familiar with domains and subdomains, there are a few things to be cautious of here.

First, please understand the difference between Domains and Subdomains.

Next, decide if you should link your main domain to Freedomkit, or use a subdomain:

  • If you already have a website that you want to keep active, please link a subdomain.
  • If you DO NOT have an existing website at the domain you want to use, please link the full domain.

Please note you can have as many subdomains as you'd like at no cost with your domain registrar. For example, if you could have a setup like the following:

The point is - you can use the same DOMAIN for as many services and tools as you want, but it can only point to one place at a time. If you try to point the main domain to multiple services at once, it will likely break the site.

And IF that happens, don't worry, you can simply go back to the previous records - it's not "breaking" anything, it's just like typing the wrong street address into your GPS.

 

We will split domain management into 2: pieces - connecting your domain into Freedomkit, and choosing the proper domain for your website.
